Corey Hardiman, aka, CJ the DJ has been spinnin’ tunes and turning heads in over fifteen different clubs in the Michiana area since he got his start just a few years ago. His natural entertainment ability gets the people on the dance floor, and his friendly demeanor keeps them coming back for more. Let’s get to know him a little more, shall we?
While 10 Gauge have only been a band since last October and played their first show in February, August 8th will see the band opening for Days of the New at the Blarney Stone in South Bend. This six piece cover band has started to make a name for themselves through a rigorous schedule of playing shows almost every weekend and rehearsing the weekends there isn’t a show. With a catalogue ranging from Nickelback to Drowning Pool to Theory of a Deadman and Seether, the band continues to expand their repertoire as well as start writing originals.
In its latest incarnation Wil Harvest began last February covering a wide range of songs by bands such as Nirvana, Chicago, Sublime and Fleetwood Mac. The 5 piece band recently added saxophonist Tom Rusin to fill out their sound in time for their July 18th performance at the Venetian Festival in St. Joseph, MI opening for Billy Squier.
Interview with Marc VanGilder, lead vocalist and drummer
To say that 2nd Sun is merely a monthly musical showcase would be to disavow over 7 years of performances, a growing lineage of stewards to organize the event and a plethora of bands from near every style of music. The entity that is 2nd Sun is a non-genre specific, non-locality specific and non-discriminatory showcase for local and visiting performers taking place on the second Sunday of each month (except April.)
Gin Soaked Boys came to be when Kyle Craft left another group and began to collaborate with lead guitarist Chris Campbell. The Boys soon added a bassists and started jamming songs that can be best described as folk rock.
The band is currently compiling a CD with Princess City Productions that will feature energetic songs crafted from everyday life experiences. We had a chance to speak with Kyle a bit about it.
With five albums recorded over four different labels and several line-up changes, Puddle of Mudd maintains consistency in its dedication to the revitalization of grunge-infused rock and the songwriting and vocal stylings of Wesley Scantlin. While the players may have changed the powerful rock remains the same and Scantlin thinks that maybe it was all for the better.
What’s that sound? Is it your typical 8 mile, everybody-canrap- now lyricist trying to conform for popularity sake? (Expletive) no! It’s Klick Klack, Elkhart’s own hip-hop recording artist who doesn’t mess around when it comes to layin’ it down.

Peach Tree Otis has been together for three and a half years and already has a repertoire of some 80-90 cover songs ranging from REO Speedwagon, Stone Temple Pilots, and Red Hot Chili Peppers to Led Zepplin. Through their partnership with Secundine Promotions and bookings made by band members in 2008 they performed some 70 shows. In July the band will appear at the Riverside Tavern in Mishawaka Aug 28th and at Cappys in Elkhart July 25th.
How would you describe your music? Escherbach is an instrumental rock trio from South Bend, Indiana formed early in 2007. The trio performs intense music which laces fusion arrangements with the styles of post and progressive rock in order to satisfy the technical junkies yet still be accessible enough for the casual music listener. The resulting sound is chaotic, beautiful, energetic, and sometimes indescribable.
How would you describe your music? Ambient hard rock. We try to incorporate a more fluid and open texture to our sound than most rock acts. It is a combination of driving music with the emphasis of melody and a sense of ambience.
