Benny’s Restaurant has been getting a fresh shake up as of late. Already a long standing institution in Michigan City, Benny’s was recently purchased by Michiana resident Jonathan Hale. Having spent almost a decade working there already, Hale was ready to make a few changes of his own after taking over. And for a little over one year now, he has been doing just that.

This is perhaps the hardest article I’ve ever had to think about writing. This month’s recipe is not my own, but my nephew Joe Martin’s. Joe was an adventurous and passionate Chef. He created some of the best sauces and off the cuff meal ideas I’ve ever eaten.

Comedian Jack Warren has come a long way from his Michigan roots. Before he became the globe trotting comedian he is today, he was just another kid with dreams of becoming a rock star. That all changed, however, after Sam Kinison’s legendary stand-up performances changed his life. These days Jack spends less time playing guitar and more time telling jokes. Normally set up on the streets of downtown Elkhart, this year’s event was moved to the actual Hoosier Harley shop at 720 West Bristol Street in Elkhart. “Bike Night” itself has been going on for more than 10 years in the Elkhart area, and although the location changed, the goals were the same: have fun and promote motorcycling in Michiana.

The nightlife in Mishawaka hasn’t always been as active as it is today. Sure the student population has always attracted a fair amount of alcohol sales to the area, but that hasn’t always fostered the right atmosphere. The Riverside Tavern is looking to change that. The most recent addition to the already growing Centre Street Plaza, The Riverside Tavern is busy catering to the post-collegiate crowd without losing their sense of fun. On any given night you can find league events, great drink specials, and the best sporting events all ready to view. It’s a genuine oasis from your work week hustle.

On July 11th an event took place that would combine an interesting combination of clean cars, beautiful women and charity work. From noon to 4 pm around 35 women on the staff of Déjà Vu and Little Darlings volunteered their time to hold their annual car wash and had a steady stream of cars to clean for the duration of the event.
